Canticos Lesson 12 Read-along, sing-along and color! ¡A leer, cantar y colorear!

  • 2 popsicle sticks or pencils
WHAT TO PRACTICE

1) Watch the video of Canticos creator, Susie Jaramillo, reading and singing Little Sunny Sunshine in English and Spanish. 

2) Color in the sun and the moon. 

3) Once you are done coloring, cut them out. 

4) Make sun and moon puppets. Take the sun and tape it to a popsicle stick or pencil to make a sun puppet. Do the same thing with the moon to make a moon puppet.

5) Time to Sing!

 

Sun: Make the sun puppet sing the song in English using the lyrics sheet from lesson 9. Use a bright voice to sing like the sun!

Moon: Make the moon puppet sing the song in Spanish using the lyrics sheet. Use a whisper voice to sing like the moon!

NOTE TO GROWN UPS
To keep the learning going at home, ask children what day of the week it is every morning. Have them practice saying it in English and Spanish! If you have a calendar somewhere visible, sing the song while pointing to the days of the week.

Que Practicar

1) Mira el video de Susie Jaramillo, la creadora de Canticos, leyendo y cantando Sol Solecito en inglés y español.

2) Colorea el sol y la luna.

3) Cuando termines de colorear, corta la forma.

4) Haz títeres del sol y la luna. Pega el sol con cinta a un palito de helado o lápiz para hacer el títere del sol. Haz lo mismo con la luna para hacer el títere de la luna.

5) ¡Hora de cantar!

 

Sol: Haz cantar al títere del sol la canción en inglés usando la hoja de letras de la lección 9. ¡Usa una voz brillante para cantar como el sol!

Luna:  Haz cantar al títere de la luna la canción en español usando la hoja de letras. ¡Usa una voz susurrante para cantar como la luna!

Nota para adultos
Para continuar el aprendizaje, pregúntale a los niños que día de la semana es cada mañana. ¡Haz que practiquen decirlo en inglés y español! Si tienes un calendario visible en la casa, canta la canción mientras indicas los días de la semana.

WHAT TO PRACTICE

Let’s put on a play! 

 

1) Choose the chickie you want to be. Cut out and make your headband.

2) Make chickie puppets. Cut out the shape and tape it to a stick or pencil to make a chickie puppet.

3) Sing along to the song lyrics with the lyric sheet from Lesson 1.

4) Use your words! Usa tus palabras!

 

Hi! My name is ______________ (Kiki Chickie, Nicky Chickie, Ricky Chickie). What is your name?

I’m hungry “pío, pío, pío” (Chickie acts as if eating) 

I’m sleepy “pío, pío, pío” (Chickie acts as if sleeping)

I’m cold “pío, pío, pío” (Chickie acts as if cold) 

 

5) Dance like a chickie! Let’s flap our wings and dance like a chickie while singing the song again to close.

¡Hagamos una obra de teatro! 

 

1) Escoge el pollito que quieras ser. Corta y haz tu venda.

2) Haz títeres de los pollitos. Corta la forma, pégala a un palo/paleta o lápiz y haz un títere de pollitos.

3) Canta con las letras de las canciones con la hoja de letras que consigues en la Lección 1.

4) Usa tus palabras!

 

¡Hola! Mi nombre es ____________ (Pollito Kiki, Pollito Nicky, Pollito Ricky). ¿Cómo te llamas?

Tengo hambre “pío, pío, pío” (el Pollito simula estar comiendo)

Tengo sueño “pío, pío, pío” (el Pollito simula estar durmiendo)

Tengo frío “pío, pío, pío” (el Pollito simula tener frío)

 

5) ¡Baila como un pollito! Vamos a mover nuestras alas y bailar como un pollito mientras cantamos la canción nuevamente para terminar.
